My name is Jon Gay, and for two decades, I’ve lived and breathed audio. My journey began after graduating from Syracuse University, leading me through 15 transformative years in radio across Vermont, Detroit, and New Orleans. This was more than just a job; it was an immersive education in the power of sound.

As an on-air personality, I didn’t just talk into a microphone; I learned how to connect, to tell a story in real-time, and to create compelling content that truly resonated with listeners. Stepping into the role of program director, my focus shifted to developing talent. I discovered the immense satisfaction of coaching other personalities and co-hosts, helping them hone their unique voices and craft their own engaging narratives. And as a production director, I became meticulous, refining every detail to ensure that everything we created was of the most professional quality – a standard I bring to every project at JAG in Detroit Podcasts.

In 2018, I recognized a significant shift in the audio landscape. While radio had been a foundational part of my past, I saw it evolving. At the same time, podcasting was exploding – a dynamic, personal medium perfectly suited for showcasing authentic personalities, whether individual voices or the essence of a business. This realization sparked the creation of JAG in Detroit Podcasts.
